Stryker got scolded by US FDA for its " defective" Trident Hip Replacement System,
{ Tags: None \ Feb3 }Medical device maker Stryker got a warning by US FDA (in a letter dated Nov 28, 2007 posted on FDA website) for “failing to fix some of its qualities problem in their manufacturing site in New Jersey and among others, customer complaints for its “squeaky” ceramic hip implant, Trident Hip Replacement system.
Stryker did recall some of its implants and will continue to do so the company reports. Some litigation and malpractice attorneys are jumping on the litigation anyway! If any of you has had Hip Replacement surgery before, and you suspect it to be Strykers’ Trident system, your Hip Surgeon could help you.
I have yet to use any of Strykers’s hip Replacement system and I learned from a senior hip replacement surgeon in the Philippines, that the Trident system is not being used here.
